Deal drivers

Global M&A markets, including EMEA, continue to be impacted by challenges this year. The result for Q3 2022: deal volume and value fell steeply in EMEA, with transaction volumes and values down by 36% and 35%, respectively, year on year - the lowest for two years and hovering just above levels prior to the pandemic.

Market spotlight

The dollar has strengthened markedly over the last several months. According to the Federal Reserve’s US Dollar Index, which tracks the currency against six others including the euro, the greenback is up around 17% year to date.
